On October 15, Bridgeside Books in Waterbury is featuring "Spooky Tales: An Evening of Vermont's Scariest Original Stories." Professional actors Mark Nash and Kathryn Blume will read spooky short stories from seven local authors - me, Mary Chaffee, Lucy Cummin, Jenna Danyew, Kathleen McKinley Harris, Katherine Forbes Riley and Janet Wylie. You're all invited. Should be fun. (For those of you who can't make it, I'll be posting my story on my webpage on October 14. My story is more funny than spooky.) Went to see how Florence celebrates Easter in the spring of 2019. The Scoppio del Carro, or the "Explosion of the Cart", dates back over 350 years. An elaborate wagon built in 1622 and standing two to three stories high is pulled by a pair of oxen decorated in garlands through the streets of Florence to the square between the Baptistry and Cathedral.
